Shuntell Alston is the founder of You're Worth Fighting 4 Inc. and is spreading awareness about how important it is to not only shed light on breast cancer, but ALL TYPES of cancer.
The organization is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit. After battling Breast and Ovarian Cancer herself, she noticed that one type of cancer was being focused on more than the others, Breast Cancer, and she was inspired to do something about it. She felt it was extremely important for all cancer patients and survivors to receive the same level of attention, time, research, and support as those who battled breast cancer. Thus, You’re Worth Fighting 4 Inc. was born in 2016.
You’re Worth Fighting 4 Inc. provides cancer patients and their families with moral and financial support and services that include but are not limited to; prescription funds, help with utilities, chemo companions, hospital activities, blankets, and more. The organization hosts two annual fundraisers, the All Cancer Matters 5K Walk in the Spring and the All Cancer Matters Ball in the fall. Some of the sponsors include Meijer, Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Home of Indianapolis, E.G.O. Entertainment Network, and Kustom Kreations. The ball features an award ceremony in which a championship belt is awarded to a cancer patient among other awards given to cancer advocates and health professionals.
